Dr. Barbara Chamberlin oversees development of research-based educational tools as head of the Innovative Media Research and Extension department at New Mexico State University. Throughout her career, she has developed hundreds of games, interactive programs apps, animations and videos about a wide range of content, including a considerable amount on the prevention of food borne illness and contamination. In 2019, her work in food safety education became even more personal, when her mom underwent her first round of chemotherapy for breast cancer and contracted listerial meningitis through contaminated food.
