Matt Lingard

Matt Lingard is the VP of Agriculture and Science for BrightFarms where his areas of responsibility include agricultural operations, food safety and quality, and research and development. Before coming to BrightFarms, Matt was the lead of Bayer Crop Science’s Marana, AZ Product Design Center, a flagship automated greenhouse facility supporting Bayer’s strategy of producing improved corn varieties. He has also led teams at Monsanto focused on developing automated genotyping workflows, automated microscopy, and high-throughput, cell-based assays. Matt was a post-doc at Rice University studying plant genetics, earned his PhD at Arizona State University in Plant Cell Biology, and his Bachelor’s degree in Botany from Weber State University.
