Susan Mooney manages the Materials Management and Source Reduction Section at the U.S. EPA Region 5. Region 5 encompasses the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Her section is responsible for the Region’s Pollution Prevention, Tribal Solid Waste, Toxic Release Inventory, and Sustainable Materials Management programs. The sustainable materials management program includes EPA’s sustainable food management program as well as the new Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling and Recycling Education and Outreach grant programs. Susan has been with the EPA for over 35 years and has worked on a wide variety of solid waste management issues and projects.
