A food pantry in Kansas has reported potentially contaminated candy received through a distribution program.
The Bibi Frutix candy was received from Harvesters — The Community Food Network. The candy is likely contaminated with a chemical substance and is potentially harmful. There has been one reported illness so far.
Harvesters has announced a recall of the product, and to date no product has been found beyond the initial incident. Harvesters estimates that fewer than six cases of the product were donated.
Consumers who believe they may have received contaminated product may contact the FDA consumer complaint coordinator for Kansas and Missouri at 1-800-202-9780.
