Registration Open for Fifth Annual IAFNS Summer Science Symposium

Registration is now open for the fifth annual Institute for the Advancement of Food and Nutrition Sciences (IAFNS) Summer Science Symposium, taking place June 10–11, 2025 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.
The event gathers scientific and regulatory experts from government, industry, and academia for dialogue around the most pressing science advancements and challenges in the food and nutrition space.
The 2025 meeting will feature sessions on food additives, microplastics, outbreaks and recalls, food classification, GLP-1 medications, and other topics. Specific scientific sessions include:
- “GLP-1s From Individual Health to the Food System”
- “Food Processing and Formulation: New Science, New Outlook?”
- “Science and Regulations on Micro- and Nanoplastics”
- “Food Additives and Food Safety”
- “Science Communication: Outbreaks and Recalls.”
Dino Covone, Chief of the Nutrition Regulations and Standards Division at Health Canada; and Mark Hartman, Director of the Office of Food Chemical Safety, Dietary Supplements, and Innovation at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), have been announced as they Keynote Presentation speakers.
The conference will also include an evening reception on June 10. It will also include presentations from the winners of IAFNS’ 2025 Emerging Leaders Awards.
