Madelia, Minn.-based Tony Downs Food Company is recalling more than 96,000 pounds of chicken products that may be contaminated with hard plastic.
The canned chicken breast products were produced on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 of 2017. They were shipped to retail stores nationwide in cases containing either six 12.5-oz. or six 50-oz. cans. The 12.5-oz. cans of "Member's Mark PREMIUM Natural Chunk CHICKEN BREAST IN WATER" have lot code 17333, case code 9816 and a use-by date of Nov. 29, 2020. The 50-oz. cans of "Member’s Mark FOOD SERVICE PREMIUM Natural Chunk CHICKEN BREAST IN WATER" have lot code 17332, case code 9817 and a use-by date of Nov. 28, 2019. Both sizes have an establishment number of "P-65" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The problem was discovered after receiving two consumer complaints of extraneous material. There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses or injuries.
