PathoSans has selected Darin Detwiler, Ph.D. to lead its food safety advisory team. Dr. Detwiler is a food safety policy expert, author, advisor, columnist, and professor.
For more than 10 years, PathoSans has been providing its electrochemically activated solutions technology (ECAS) to the food, beverage, education, and hospitality industries. Its non-hazardous cleaning and sanitizing solutions are produced using only electricity, water, and salt. The final product has proven to be an effective sanitizer and disinfectant against a large array of pathogens while still being gentle on equipment, the user, and the environment.
While there are other ECAS solutions on the market, PathoSans has elevated the efficacy and ease of use of ECAS products through its patented ion exchange membranes used in the electrolysis process. The output is purer active ingredients, sodium hydroxide cleaner and hypochlorous acid disinfectant, which result in chemicals that are highly effective at extremely low concentrations. The powerful solutions are even safe to spray directly on vegetables, poultry, meat and fish without the need for rinsing.
A PathoSans on-site generation system creates two electrochemically-activated (ECA) solutions. First, PathoClean®, an all-purpose cleaner and degreaser that removes soil and grease, so pathogens have nowhere to hide. Then, PathoCide®, a food grade sanitizer and disinfectant kills 99.9 percent of microbes. Together, these two solutions can replace a host of commercial cleaning chemicals while leaving behind a cleaner plant, processing surface or commercial kitchen.
In addition to working together on research and developing food safety processes for specific clients, PathoSans and Dr. Detwiler will be co-producing podcasts, article,s and seminars that will address food safety topics for the farming, processing, manufacturing, and foodservice/restaurant industries.
