The Retail Food Safety Regulatory Association Collaborative, a coalition of representatives from seven organizations with a role in improving retail food safety in the U.S., recently updated its Food Code Adoption Map with improved data search functionality and visibility, as well as the new ability to download data.
The Food Code Adoption Map is an interactive resource that shows the adoption of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Code in each state and U.S. territory.
According to the latest FDA Food Code Adoption Report, published in May 2024, only two states and two territories are at the “optimal level” of Food Code adoption, meaning they adopt the newest version in its entirety as soon as it is released.
