Babylife Organics recently introduced a line of Regenerative Organic Certified® baby food that is tested for toxic heavy metals at four different stages of the supply chain.

The company is the second U.S. baby food producer to launch a food safety transparency initiative guided by EU standards, and the company says it is the first to publish its results measured in parts-per-billion (ppb), rather than just benchmarks.

Specifically, BabyLife Organics will publish verified, third-party test results for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury contamination, for every batch of finished goods. Under the Soil-to-Spoon Transparency™ initiative, testing will be conducted on soil, raw ingredients, prepared ingredients, and the final, ready-to-eat (RTE) product. Results can be accessed through a QR code that will be located on every package.

Babylife Organics promises that all of its products comply with toxic heavy metal limits set by the EU and the Clean Label Project’s First 1,000 Days Promise, which are more stringent than the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) guidelines.

In order to deliver on its promise, the Babylife Organics team and its vertically integrated farming partner grow, harvest, and produce all of its baby food from regenerative organic fields and wild orchards across Türkiye. This area of the world is home to clean and safe soil, cared for by generations of organic farmers, according to Babylife Organics.

“Although it is impossible to eliminate heavy metals altogether—whether that’s in homemade food or in a manufactured product—we can source produce from farms where industrial contamination is minimized and soil health is prioritized,” said Doug Brent, founder and chairman of Babylife Organics.
