In celebration of World Food Safety Day, on June 7, 2023 the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and partner organizations will be holding four virtual events discussing different aspects of food safety and promoting new resources. 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA’s FSIS) has released a guidance document for manufacturing ready-to-eat (RTE), shelf-stable, fermented, salt-cured, and dried meat and poultry products that do not use cooking as the primary lethality step. FSIS is seeking comments and will host two webinars.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) held a webinar to provide an overview of recently established action levels for lead in food intended for babies and children, as well as to answer stakeholder questions.
