Kathleen Glass, Ph.D., will receive Food Safety Magazine's Distinguished Service Award for 2024. The award will be presented at the 2024 Food Safety Summit, taking place May 6–9 in Rosemont, Illinois.
On July 28, 2023, Reginald (Reggie) W. Bennett, M.Sc., a longtime member of Food Safety Magazine’s (FSM’s)Editorial Advisory Board (EAB), a 2017 recipient of FSM’s Distinguished Service Award, and a renowned microbiologist for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), passed away. Mr. Bennett was a researcher, teacher, and consummate advocate of rapid methods and automation in microbiology.
Michael Taylor, J.D., will receive Food Safety Magazine's Distinguished Service Award for 2023, to be presented at the Food Safety Summit in Rosemont, Illinois, May 8–11. Taylor has held leadership roles in public health and food safety in government, academia, and the private sector, with a major focus on modernizing the U.S. food safety system to prevent foodborne illness.
