Bronx, N.Y.-based Marathon Enterprises is recalling more than 7.1 million pounds of hot dog products that may be contaminated with bone fragments.

The hot dog and sausage items were produced between March 17 and July 4 and bear establishment number “EST. 8854” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The items were shipped to retail and institutional locations nationwide. The problem was discovered when consumers reported finding pieces of bone in the product.
