On October 5–6, 2021, Institute of Food Technologists will be hosting the 2021 Nonthermal Processing Division and European Federation of Food Science & Technology virtual workshop entitled "Commercialization, Emerging Technologies, Consumer Acceptance, and Environmental Impact."

The two-day virtual workshop will feature oral sessions, poster sessions, lab videos, roundtables, social networking, and break-out sessions with renowned experts in high-pressure processing, pulsed electric field processing, light-based technologies, plasma, irradiation, food sanitizers, food packaging, and sustainability. This diverse, cutting-edge virtual workshop will include special sessions such as a COVID-19 pandemic highlight on viruses and a full-day on bacterial spores with Grahame Gould, Peter Setlow, and Alexander Mathys. The event will also feature networking with student-led activities.
