On October 12, 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will air the fourth podcast in its TechTalk series. TechTalk podcasts discuss the agency’s development and use of new technologies to better prevent and respond to food safety incidents and foodborne illness outbreaks, which are efforts that further New Era of Smarter Food Safety goals. TechTalk guests include leaders in FDA, other government agencies, and the private sector.
The fourth podcast, titled, “Data Exchange in the New Era of Smarter Food Safety,” will explore the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) Data Exchange, a digital platform created by FDA’s ORA to securely share information between the agency and its regulatory partners at the state and local levels. The discussion will center on how regulators use the ORA Data Exchange to enhance food safety, including compliance measures and outbreak response; technology required to increase the efficiency of electronic data exchange; how consumers and the food industry benefit from data exchange; and the agency’s future plans for data sharing under the New Era of Smarter Food Safety.
More information about how to listen to the episode and how to submit questions in advance for consideration by the panelists can be found on FDA’s website.
