The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published four new webpages dedicated to each of the Core Elements of the New Era of Smarter Food Safety.
FDA’s New Era of Smarter Food Safety has four priority areas, called Core Elements. They cover a range of technologies, analytics, business models, modernization, and values that are the New Era’s building blocks.
Each Core Element is featured separately on a web page that highlights its initiatives and links to other New Era resources. The new pages are:
- Core Element 1: Tech-Enabled Traceability
- Core Element 2: Smarter Tools and Approaches for Prevention and Outbreak Response
- Core Element 3: New Business Models and Retail Modernization
- Core Element 4: Food Safety Culture.
Additionally, FDA is conducting an ongoing webinar series with Food Safety Magazine on the Core Elements. Two webinars on Tech-Enabled Traceability and Smarter Tools have already aired, and can now be watched on-demand. Visit Food Safety Magazine’s Webinars page to watch prior webinars and register for upcoming events.
