PSSI has announced the promotion of Tom ‘Tiny’ Eckmann to its leadership team as vice president of operations. Eckmann will oversee the company’s customer relationships and operational initiatives with food processors across the Southeast region, including Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
“Tiny is a results-driven leader who is widely respected by many across our industry,” said Dan Taft, president and CEO of PSSI. “He has been instrumental in expanding our team and partnerships and we are proud to have him as part of our leadership team.”
Eckmann has more than 22 years of experience working in sanitation. He joined PSSI as a supervisor and worked his way up through the company, most recently leading the North region as a Division Manager.
In addition to his work at PSSI, Eckmann has been an active community leader in his hometown of Trimont, Minn. He served as the Mayor of Trimont for the last 15 years, vice president of the Trimont Chamber of Commerce, and president of the local Economic Development Association. He is also a former member of the Trimont fire department and trained as a first responder.
“PSSI has an exciting future ahead and I’m proud to be part of such a great organization,” said Eckmann. “We are a large organization, but our focus on having a localized footprint in all the communities we serve is important to me and something I believe sets us apart in the industry. I look forward to a new opportunity to lead our company’s vision and relationships throughout the Southeast.”
