In February 2025, Germany’s Food Safety Authority, the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL), will host the International Training for Safer Food (ITS Food). ITS Food is a training program on food safety risk management, intended for public health authority staff members in non-EU countries who handle issues related to food safety.
ITS Food 2025 will be held virtually, and will focus on the latest developments in the fields of veterinary medicinal products, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and zoonoses relevant to regulators. In addition to a general overview of the legal and institutional background in Germany and Europe, there will be an introduction to relevant work of Codex Alimentarius, with a special focus on the activities of the Codex Task Force on AMR.
Practitioners from competent authorities, official laboratories, and research institutions will share their knowledge and experience. Participants will receive hands-on technical insights and will have the opportunity to build new networks with global colleagues.
The event will take place online from February 17–21, 2025, from 12:30–3:30 P.M. UTC daily. Application to register for the event is open until January 15, 2025 via BVL’s website.
