Dan Harrigan is the program lead for the Food Lab Technician Program at Blackhawk Technical College. Mr. Harrigan completed his graduate training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and has been teaching microbiology, molecular biology, and food safety for more than 15 years. He is a member of ASM, IFT, and has been awarded multiple faculty and teaching awards. When not in the lab, he helps his wife run their small organic farm just outside Monroe, Wisconsin.
Blackhawk Technical College's Food Lab program is an example of why more flexible and accessible food safety training and education is crucial to developing the next generation of food safety professionals.
